Hudson & Lee Sangrias

We love Sangrias!  They're cocktails mixed with wine, you get the best of both worlds all in one drink!  We wanted to create red wine sangrias and white wine sangrias for any occasion..and don't worry, we'll be adding onto this yummy list!

Passionfruit Sangria

This beautiful Passionfruit Sangria cocktail speaks for itself! You can use either flavor Honey Simple Syrup...the Ginger Spice will add a spicy kick! Impress your cocktail guests with this easy to make, mix-it-yourself Sangria!

How to make it: Serves 1

-1.5 oz (or shots) Light Rum

-1 oz (or shot) 100% Passionfruit Juice Ceres Fruit Juice 

-1 oz (or shot) Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice

-1/2 oz Triple Sec

-1/2 oz Honey Simple Syrup (either original or ginger spice)

-1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

-2 oz Sparkling Water, we like San Pellegrino

-1 oz (or 1 shot) Red Wine

Add all ingredients (except red wine) to a cocktail shaker over ice and shake for 30 seconds then pour into a glass over ice. You can also just add all ingredients (except wine) to a glass over ice if you don't have a shaker handy. Pour shot of red wine on top and let your guests stir their own drinks. Enjoy! Feel free to garnish with a orange and lime slice.

Caribbean Spiced Sangria

Sangria is such a perfect anytime drink, and this spiced Sangria is rising to the anytime occasion in a BIG way!  The spice of the ginger and red wine mixed with the tart of lime juice and the sweetness of honey, truly melts the day away.  We envision pirates must have had something similar on hand, hence the Caribbean name.  This easy cocktail can be paired with a meal, served with appetizers or sipped on its own, we're not picky...

So, sit back and dream Caribbean dreams with this kicked up Sangria!

How to make it: Serves 1

-1 oz Red Wine

-1 oz Light Rum

-3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice

-3/4 oz H&L Ginger Spice Honey Simple Syrup

-Lime Wheel for Garnish


Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake for 30 seconds.  Pour in glass over ice and serve with lime wedge garnish.  Enjoy!


The Best Red Sangria

Sangria...a cool, semi-sweet wine that can be enjoyed all year long, one of my all time favorite treats!  I especially crave this drink when we're cooking Spanish, Tex-Mex or Thai dishes as it plays off the spices very well.  Pair a red sangria with guacamole, seafood paella, empanadas, or a spicy yellow or red curry.  Sweetened with Hudson & Lee's all natural honey simple syrup is the only way we drink our Sangria!

How to make it - Serves 4

  • 1 Bottle of red wine (750 ml)
  • 1/4 Cup Brandy
  • 1/4 Cup Triple Sec
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 Cup Honey Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 Lime, Sliced Thin
  • 1/2 Lemon, Sliced thin
  • 1/2 Orange, Sliced thin
  • 1 Bottle Sparkling Water (750 ml), Chilled, we like San Pellegrino

Combine everything but the sparkling water in a large pitcher. Cover and chill completely, 1 to 2 hours.  When ready to serve, add the sparkling water.  Garnish with a Lime, Lemon and Orange Slice.  Enjoy!


Apple Cider Sangria


I recently saw this recipe and thought...this would be perfect with Hudson & Lee Honey Simple Syrup!  

Apple, cinnamon, wine & honey flavors explode in this Fall inspired  Sangria!  We love any cocktail that can be made in batches, it invites neighbors over for a drink, becomes the party favorite or adds pizzazz to your holiday entertaining.  

With all these natural, light flavors this cocktail won't fill you up and you'll be able to enjoy more of those holiday appetizers & desserts! Just a tip with this one-add the sparkling water right before serving to keep its fizz!

How to Make It (Serves 6-8):

  • 1 Bottle of White Wine (Pinot Grigio is a good one)
  • 1 Cup of Vodka
  • 3 and 1/4 Cups of Fresh Apple Cider (make sure it's pure with no added sugar)
  • 1/2 Cup Hudson & Lee Honey Simple Syrup   
  • 1 Bottle of Sparkling Water (750 ml), Chilled
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2 Apples, Chopped
  • 1 Orange, Sliced
  • 1/4 Cup Pomegranate Seeds
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Add chopped apples, sliced oranges, pomegranate seeds, cinnamon sticks and cinnamon to a large pitcher.  Pour in wine, vodka, apple cider and Hudson & Lee Honey Simple Syrup.  Chill for up to 2 hours, add chilled sparkling water when ready to serve, stir and pour into wine glasses with an apple ring garnish.  Enjoy!


Perfect White Sangria

White wine, rum, watermelon, citrus juices, cherries, and honey simple syrup.  Not sure it gets better than this, we've really outdone ourselves with this one!

I do love our red sangria recipe, but this crisp, fruity white sangria is a perfect recipe for those friend or family gatherings, BBQs, or any Summer, Spring or Fall get together!  Bring this to your next shindig and EVERYONE will love you!

You can really mix up the fruit juices and fruits you put into this White Sangria, make it with your personal favorites or use fruits you already have on hand.  That's what I love most about this recipe, it's super versatile and always delicious!

How to make it - Serves 4

  • Assorted Fruits, Sliced (I used a lime, a lemon, half of an orange, a peach and a handful of cherries)
  • 1 Bottle of White Wine (Sauvignon Blanc is a good one)
  • 1/2 Cup Light Rum
  • 1/2 Cup Honey Simple Syrup
  • 1/4 Cup Triple Sec
  • 1/3 Cup Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1/3 Cup Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (about 1 large orange)
  • 1/3 Cup Pure Pomegranate Juice
  • Sparkling Water (optional), we like San Pellegrino
  • Lime Wedge, Lemon Wedge and Fresh Mint for Garnish

Slice fruit and place in a pitcher.  Cover the sliced fruit with wine, rum, honey syrup, triple sec, and fresh juices and stir.  Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.  Fill stemless wine glasses, small mason jars, or any fun glasses you have with ice, stir the sangria mix and pour.  Add a few of the sliced fruit pieces to each glass.  Option to top off each glass with a few splashes of sparkling water for a sparkling wine taste.  Garnish with lime and lemon slices and a sprig of fresh mint. Enjoy!
